Stallion Eclipse This piece is hand carved out of Basswood. The coloring was achieved with a combination of wood stains and Aztec gold and bronze metallic powders. The metallic powders were mixed with a compound and applied to the sun rays and hills, giving the background a metal-like appearance. Kenneth’s goal was to achieve a very strong and sculpted interpretation of the horse with abstract undertones. The stallion’s dark color was chosen mainly for contrast purposes, to separate it from it’s surroundings. He applied several coats of different stains by different methods to attain the rich dark shade he was after. Kenneth noted that this relief wood carving is one his favorite pieces to date. This piece won first place at the Del Mar Fair Design in Wood Contest.

Seascape This piece is a hand carved and hand crafted out of poplar wood. The coloring was achieved with a combination of oil paints and wood stains. Kenneth wanted to achieve a feeling of movement and capture the business of the sea with this piece. As you study the relief wood carving you will discover the sea turtle soaring through the water, a crab crouching in the lower right corner and an octopus climbing out from the bottom left. Continue to study and you will sea two types of fish along with clams and starfish decorating a coral frame. |

Animal Table This table was custom ordered by the client for his young son. The table top is made out of maple a very hard and durable wood. The images of the animals on the table were hand drawn and colored then sealed with a clear lacquer finish. The scene is not of a safari but more of a collage or mural of many animals from different continents. On one side you have an elephant, polar bear, chameleon, rhino, lion, snake, monkey and gazelle. And on the other side you have a giraffe, kuala bear, gorilla, buffalo, zebra and panda. If you are interested in purchasing a table like this one please contact the artist. Size: 4ft x 22in.

Boat Lamp This wooden lamp derives it’s name by it’s shape as it resembles the hull of a boat. Kenneth designed this lamp after watching the construction of a classic wooden boat. The wood was assembled in a somewhat rough state then the artist shaped and smoothed the exterior. After the lamp was smooth to the touch he applied stain and a sealer to protect the wood. This Lamp includes three pull out drawers great for storing loose change, watches, jewelry, etc. This current lamp is sold but the craftsman will build others when ordered. Kenneth is currently redesigning and building a slightly larger version which will have drawers that will accommodate a standard sized wallet. We will post the size, price and pictures as soon as the lamps are finalized.

The Chase This piece was carved out of a solid board of alder a somewhat rare find to come across such a large flawless piece in this type of wood. The artist’s desire with this carving was to depict a sense of rugged elegance. Kenneth also wanted to portray an intense moment in time. Study the piece and you will discover the sea turtle ripping through the water after its prey and the fish franticly trying to elude it’s capture. The coloring was achieved with oil paints and wood stains and sealed with a clear lacquer finish.

Hooked on Lions This hand crafted wood carving was done in poplar. Once the lion carving was finished Kenneth colored the piece with washes of oil paints and sealed it with clear lacquer. This is one of Kenneth's more playful pieces ideal for a child’s bedroom or for those who just love more whimsical art. The wood carving is intended for use as a coat rack but serves as a key chain holder as well.

Elephant Lamp This wooden Lamp was carved out of poplar. The coloring was achieved by airbrushing two types of wood stains giving the wood carving a very natural look. Once the coloring was completed Kenneth sealed it with danish oil which kept the carving very rustic in appearance

Leaf Box This hand carved wooden box is adorned with leaves sprouting out from it's top and even has a leaf for it's lid handle. The coloring was achieved with wood stains and oil paint washes. The entire box was then sealed with a clear lacquer finish. This box is ideal for storing jewelry, change, etc.

Rhino in Red Oak This relief wood carving of a rhino was done in red oak. Red oak is not normally carved because of it being a harder wood but Kenneth muscled through and completed this piece. This carving has an overall rugged rustic look. The coloring was done with washes of oil paints and then sealed with a clear lacquer finish.
